What is The SEO Rant? How did it start? What is it meant to accomplish? These are all good questions... and despite having started this podcast I'm not sure I have a good answer.
That said, here's what I got.
Why I Love SEO Podcasting
I think I should start with this. Not what I think makes for the best SEO podcast or what I think an SEO podcast should be, but with why I love SEO podcasting.
Articles, studies, blogs are all wonderful. They can be filled with some great information. But they do a terrible job of representing what the author feels about SEO. SEO is not just a practice, it's our lives, it's our craft, it's our community. What happens in SEO impacts our actual lives. It's important to us. There's an entire emotional element to it and it should be represented.
Podcasts, when done a certain way, can offer that emotional dynamic that's often missing.
I love SEO podcasting because I love SEO!
Why The SEO Rant Is the Perfect Podcast for Me
I get impassioned. I get annoyed. I have a big personality (though I'm really an introvert and a homebody). Most of all, I have a low tolerance for bullcrap. I also like to talk (I'm from NY it's a disease). I also love SEO. When you combine all of these things, ranting is the natural format for me!
I want to offer a no-nonsense take on SEO. I want to cut through all the fluff and offer what I really think about SEO. I also want to be able to share what I find amazing about SEO. You really don't have to look too hard to see how advanced Google is (sometimes they're not advanced as you think, but that's a different conversation).
Being able to share both what amazes and annoys me is what The SEO Rant is all about.
So What Is the SEO Rant?
The SEO Rant is a podcast where I get to share my feelings along with my knowledge. It's the perfect combination of annoyance and amazement and insights into, about, and related to SEO!
It's SEO knowledge filled with passion and with more sarcasm than is probably necessary.
It's me going off on what I love, hate, and found amazing about what's happening in the world of SEO.
I hope you enjoy it!
(For the record, this post is probably the most reserved, balanced, and professionally toned thing that will ever be posted on this site.)
