Ways to Go About Showing the Value of Your SEO Work: Episode Synopsis

Alex Wright on the SEO Rant Podcast

It should go without saying (although it appears we do need to say it) that you need to prove the value of your SEO work to clients. This really isn't unique to SEO but it can be a little trickier when it comes to the value of SEO work.

This process starts with understanding how the client's business works. That means you need to really jump into things. For Alex, this means finding the person in control of the company's financial records. Why? Because once you find this person you can start to have conversations about the company's targets, goals, and success measures. These conversations are critical in you aligning your SEO work to these targets, goals, and success measures. This sends a clear message that the work you're doing as is a critical part of the overall direction of the company.

Long story short, to show the value of your SEO work, you need to integrate yourself into your client's business. As you remain on the periphery so does the value of your SEO work in many instances.
